For my card today I welded the shadow of the flower to a small rectangle, then onto a larger one, making the base.
This is how it looks closed, flat. The flower and its base are from Country Life.
This is how it looks open. I created my own "design" for the vase by just stamping different stamps with versamark ink and then heat embossing them with white powder. After, I just colored the base pink with Spun Sugar distress ink.
This is the side view, while open. I inked around the edges of the base with Wild Honey distress ink. For the flowers, I just cut the flowers three times each :)
